Veola will serve as a staff pianist for both violin sessions at the 2026 Domaine Forget Academy in Charlevoix, Quebec.
The Ottica Trio was honoured to open the 2026 edition of the Musical Chairs Chamber Music Festival at McGill University, a bi-annual event that hosts students and faculty from 9 institutions around the world.
The Ottica Trio was invited to participate in the 2026 Fischoff National Chamber Competition in South Bend, Indiana, where they presented a program of Beethoven, Brahms, and Tailleferre. Ottica features violinist Joey Machin, cellist Evelyne Méthot, and pianist Veola Sun, and is coached by Violaine Melançon.
Joey Machin, violin, won the 2025 Golden Violin Award at McGill University, one of Canada's largest privately-funded music awards. Accompanied by Veola Sun on piano, the duo performed Beethoven's 7th violin sonata, Britten's Suite for Violin and Piano, and Brahms Violin Sonata No. 1.

As the winner of the 2023 McGill Classical Concerto Competition, Veola was invited to perform with the McGill Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Alexis Hauser. In February 2024, she gave two performances of Mozart’s 24th piano concerto in C minor in Pollack Hall.
Veola made her orchestral debut with the UCLA Philharmonia and Neal Stulberg, performing the third movement of Brahms’ first piano concerto in historic Royce Hall, UCLA.
